Nook
I'm not a fan of e-book readers but with Amazon on its second iteration of Kindle, you knew brick and mortar stalwarts Barnes & Noble weren't going to just let them take over the electronic book market. Hence, Nook ($260). Built atop Android and featuring dual screens — one e-Ink, one color touch screen — Nook aims to present books and their covers to you in a whole new, but familiar, way. Like the Kindle, it features built-in 3G wireless networking, storage for up to 1,500 books, and a sleeker design than Amazon's front-keyboard gadget. The icing on the cake? There are thousands of books available for free, making the two and some change price tag seem that much friendlier.
The Horde T-Shirt
Just in time for undeadliest of holidays comes The Horde T-Shirt ($18). This black American Apparel tee sports a terrific print of a single character wielding multiple weapons on the roof of a car as a horde (get it?) of zombies surround him. While it won't pass as a costume per se, it's certainly festive, and if you happen to harbor a secret zombie obsession, you'll no doubt find yourself wearing it all year long

iPhone For Halloween Much???
Powered by a car battery and full-size 42-inch LCD TVs, these working iPhone Halloween costumes from Apple costume savants "Reko and Bobby" are surely iPhone fanaticism manifested in physical form. Amazingly, this is not the first time the duo has created human sized iPhone costumes. In 2007, the two created smaller and simpler versions with 37-in. screens that could only display looped videos of real iPhone screens in use... This year, however, shit got real...
Two grand for one night of incredibly geeky fun. Did I mention each of these weigh 85 pounds??? I'll Pass...

I Love The Land Of The Rising Sun!

Confirming our belief that Japan is at once among the coolest and craziest places on this planet we all call home is Burger King's exclusive Windows 7 Whopper. Seven stacked beef patties extend your usual Whopper to over five inches in height and the whole thing costs an appropriate ¥777 (or $8.55). It'll be available for one week only -- or seven days, get it?

Shwood Sunglasses

Forget simulated wood grain — Shwood Sunglasses ($95) are handcrafted from actual wood. They're available in two basic styles, the Wayfarer-like Canby and the more squarish Govy, and can be ordered in a variety of different woods, all with your choice of Carl Zeiss lenses. Just remember: these probably aren't the best shades to wear to the beach, water park, or campfire — we're guessing they're at least a little flammable.
Heritage Toggle Coat

Take a step back in time with the Heritage Toggle Coat ($355). Made from a wool and nylon blend, this long coat features a four toggle closure for a old-time nautical look, three exterior pockets, two interior pockets, adjustable button cuffs, and more. Available in tannish "Camel" or black, we'd recommend sticking with the former unless you really want to draw attention to those light tan toggles.
Amazon.com Local Express Delivery

As much as we love Amazon and our Amazon Prime accounts, we still miss the instant gratification that comes from purchasing goods in a brick-and-mortar store and having them with you when you get home. Amazon.com Local Express Delivery ($6 and up, per item) aims to lessen this gap by offering same-day delivery for orders placed before a certain time in New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Las Vegas, and Seattle. Great news for procrastinators and the impatient, bad news for the ol' charge card.
Converse Jack Purcell Race Around

A pair of relatively plain black sneakers are a great staple for any man's wardrobe, the Converse Jack Purcell Race Around ($79) being a fine example. These subdued high-tops feature a leather upper and lining, nubuck side panels with perforation details, a contrasting white ring on the sides of the rubber sole, and a molded footbed for added comfort. Just don't wear them with shorts.
Nissan 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition

Celebrating the October, 1969 launch of the Datsun 240Z, the new Nissan 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition ($TBA; Spring 2010) thankfully moves beyond the quaint 150hp 2.4-liter engine of the original for Nissan's latest and greatest tech. Features include a 332 hp V6 — sadly, not enhanced with turbo for this edition — 19-inch, "smoke" Rays wheels, a special 40th Quartz paint job, red brake calipers, red leather interior, red stitching, and the requisite 40th anniversary badges and commemorative plaque.
Apple 21.5 & 27-inch iMac

While it's a little hard to tell from the front, the new Apple iMac ($1,200 - $2,000) has changed a lot from its predecessor. Available with either a 21.5- or 27-inch 16:9, glass-covered LED backlit display, a fully aluminum back panel, 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors standard with quad-core 2.66GHz Core i5 or 2.8GHz Core i7 processors as options, a built-in SD card slot, up to 16GB of RAM, an included Apple Wireless Keyboard and new multi-touch Magic Mouse, and more. The only bummer? You'll be waiting (with us) until November if you want a Core i5 or i7 model.
Apple Unibody MacBook

It's about time. Apple finally updated its long-in-the-tooth non-aluminum laptop today with the release of the new MacBook ($1,000). Bringing it up to speed with its Pro counterparts, the new base-level MacBook features a polycarbonate unibody design with a non-skid bottom surface, an LED-backlit 13.3-inch display, a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, NVIDIA 9400M graphics, Apple's latest built-in battery technology for up to seven hours of battery life, and a glass multi-touch trackpad. Sadly, there's no black option this time around.
Apple Magic Mouse

Who needs buttons? Apple's Magic Mouse ($69) eschews mechanical buttons and scroll wheels, letting you navigate using the same Multi-Touch technology used on the iPhone and MacBook trackpads. The sexy, seamless, touch-sensitive device works as a single or multi-button mouse with advanced gesture support, allowing you to scroll, pan, or swipe with ninja-finger skill. Works for you freakish lefties too.

Blasphemy... But So Damn Cool

iPhone Springboard Exposé
The designers also have an idea for managing the mess of home screens that comes along with app hoarding. Tapping the home button would bring up a paneled Exposé page. From there, you could easily jump to a specific page, rather than swiping a hundred times to find Peggle.
Now This is How the iPhone Should Handle Multitasking
I really hope someone at Apple sees these concept interfaces from Ocean Observations. They've taken the best elements of the Pre's card system, combined them with Cover Flow, and created an awesome vision of multitasking on the iPhone.
