Heather Holiday from the Coney Island Circus SWALLOWS a ipod shuffle!!!
Can the iPod shuffle be swallowed? from Gizmodo on Vimeo
Heather is a professional... :) Sword swallower... :). Someone with no gag reflex.... :) —or better said, trained to suppress it while swallowing... :) 36-inch... :) long... :) solid... :) steel... :) swords... :) down her throat... :). No tricks, no smoke and mirrors. She's the real deal. I saw her swallow... :) an entire—and very large—soup spoon (what did you think I was about to say???) with my own eyes in a second. She didn't even blinked. She gobbled it down... :) like I eat maple-syrup-bathed buttermilk pancakes.
Needless to say, she had the right credentials... :) to try our test: Swallow... :) the tiny, 1.8 x 0.7 x 0.3-inch iPod shuffle and then take it out again... :), after we have listened to a couple of songs thanks to the in-cable remote control—which is a bad idea for regular use, but it's great to play songs when someone has the iPod down the esophagus.
Unfortunately, as you will see in the video, she wasn't able to do it for a number of reasons. First, the iPod shuffle is way too light. Apart from controlling your gag reflex, her technique for swallowing swords use the force of gravity to pull them down. She also uses her esophagus muscles to control how fast it gets in her body, but the gravity is what pull downs the sword. With the iPod shuffle—which is only 0.38 ounces or 10.7 grams—this was impossible. The iPod just hanged there and had to be pushed with her hand or a large object—like a spoon—to get into the entry of her throat. However, from there it was not possible to make it go down.
Heather thinks she can do it with more training—or maybe pushing it with something larger—so she took the iPod with her and will be back when she can do it. Until then, here's the answer to the question: No, you can't swallow the iPod shuffle, even if it's small enough to get it in. If the iPod shuffle is sword-swallower proof, it's certainly child- and moron-proof.

Pro-Keds Court King

Sometimes you get it right on the first try. Case in point: the Pro-Keds Court King ($74). Originally designed as a tennis shoe in the 1960's, these durable, full-grain leather sneakers feature a rubber toe cap, aluminum eyelets, canvas lining, and a retro embroidered logo on the tongue. The padded footbeds are removable so you can change them out rather than retire the entire sneaker, and the vulcanized rubber midsole sport the famous Keds stripe, a splash of color on these otherwise understated kicks. Available in four colors, we're stuck between casual blue and traditional white (maybe both?).
Barbour Correspondent Jacket

Back in the day, news reporters couldn't afford the luxury of a fancy designer suit. They needed a blazer that could pair with any slacks and weather any situation, while still presenting a sophisticated, smart profile. The Barbour Correspondent Jacket ($300) harkens back to the day when looking good meant working hard. The Correspondent is made of pure cotton for breathability and has a soft, tartan lining for hours of comfort. Versatility and functionality come standard here, with three exterior pockets, two interior pockets, and a special pocket for the modern-day report's primary tool: the mobile phone. A double-vented rear pleat and faux-horn buttons complete the design. Available in the only color you'll ever need: brown.

Bell & Ross Instrument BR01 Airborne

Bell & Ross pay homage to the fighter pilots of the Second World War with the unveiling of their BR01 Airborne timepiece. The “BR 01 Airborne reinvents the notion of the talisman, and personifies the very spirit of these outstanding men. It is a genuine tribute to the noblest of military values as well as to the bravery of soldiers who face death on a daily basis to defend their country.” The watch face in a matte black finish is definitely one of a kind with dagger-hands and a light-up back panel.

Nike Air Yeezy Black/Red-Grey?!?!

The Nike Air Yeezy is easily the most sought-after sneaker of 2009 so far. Although it has already released in the Zen Grey/Light Charcoal colorway, many are eagerly waiting for the Black/Pink colorway. In addition, we have spotted yet another fresh colorway of the Yeezy. It contains a predominately black upper combined with a fiery red midole and glow-in-the-dark outsole. It also contains a black patent leather strip located just above the midsole. In addition, the toe cap and certain surrounding areas are colored in grey as well. Even though this sneaker seems like a must cop, there is no word yet on if it will be available for retail. Could this be the best Air Yeezy colorway yet?

iPhone Concepts - The Most Probable Evolution

What will the next iPhone look like? Probably something like this: A flatter, even more tapered and slender version of the current one. After all, if you have a winning formula, why radically change it? Just a version of the current model. We are going to be pessimist and expect just an evolution of the current design. The market keeps growing with what they have now, so it won't make sense for them to go through a radical design change just yet. And besides this point, there are at least three generations of smooth evolution and tweaks in Apple hardware designs until something completely new comes along (witness the iMacs, for example.) Not that it really matters: As long as they include a bigger camera sensor while reducing the thickness to iPod touch levels, I'd be happy. But who knows, perhaps there will be a radical departure. What do you think? Do you have any original idea? Send it to us.

iPhone Concepts - iPhone MacBook Air Inspired

Designed by Rodolphe Desmare. As you can see from the curves and tapering that it has been inspired by MacBook Air. The thing that excites us most about these concepts, however, is not the aesthetic aspect of it. It's the the front camera and the fact that people seem to be excited about getting videoconferencing on the iPhone. Specially about the idea of interacting with desktop videoconferencing software on both the PC and the Mac. This is a must for the videochat feature to be really useful, and personally I think it's one of the reasons it hasn't been done by Apple before.
iPhone Concepts - iPhone MacBook Inspired

Designed by Jim Young, and as you can see below was inspired by MacBook. HIs iPhone included titanium case, glass OLED screen, 3G, GPS, Front camera for iChat, Removable battery, 3.2 Megapixel camera, Video, and 32 GB.
iPhone Concepts - iPhone Pro

An iPhone designed by Mat Brady with 60GB of storage, true 16:9 aspect ratio, slide-out keyboard, one megapixel front camera for iChat, and a high quality camera, with good lenses, optical zoom, and video capability. Folks at Gizmodo fixed the keyboard to make it more compact, removed some unnecessary keys and added a direction pad and two buttons to make the new iPhone a true Nintendo DS competitor.

THE CUTEST STREET FIGHTER PICTURE EVER!!!

The rough-and-tumble Street Fighters enjoying their youth is likely the most adorable thing we'll see all week. Kei Acedera, an illustrator and art director at Imaginism, has just such a drawing in her portfolio on the company's website.

Diaper Dude Messenger Bag... Shout Outs To My Real Fathers!!!

Anyone can attest, there are too few diaper bags geared for Dads. Most come in pink or paisley and feature long, purse-length straps, making for a difficult pairing with your T-shirt and boots. Reclaim your manhood with the Diaper Dude Grey Messenger II ($100). This messenger-style bag is made of durable polyester fabric, has a padded shoulder strap, a large compartment for baby stuff, and an additional internal pocket for Dad. Is that a cell phone pocket or a built-in insulated bottle holder? Only you will know.

Ohio Knitting Mills Sweaters

Founded in Cleveland, OH in 1928, Ohio Knitting Mills was at one time one of the country's premiere garment manufacturers, and — lucky for us — put samples of each style they produced post-WWII into storage. Ohio Knitting Mills Sweaters ($88-$148) are those same never-worn samples, now available for purchase. With designs hailing from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, you're sure to find some retro cool amongst this collection of time capsule-worthy threads.

Cellphone Sex Video Clears Man of Rape Charges

A businessman accused of raping a university student was cleared by cellphone footage shown in court of the woman 'actively' getting busy with him. Before the mobile phone clip was screened, the judge warned the gallery, "You are going to see a clip which from what I have been told you may find extremely distasteful." After it was screened, the defense went for the zinger: "You and Mr Taylor were very familiar with each other and comfortable in each other's presence." The jurors voted to acquit the man, who'd been charged with four counts of rape, including two of rape by oral penetration. What's curious is that nothing is made of the fact that the woman—who denies she was actively performing a sex act on him—had never seen the clip before.

iPhone 3.0 video recording interface, compass support spotted? (Update: voice dialing, too)

iPhone OS 3.0 is riddled with hints that video recording is on the way, and the latest is is this supposed screenshot of a revised camera app with a video toggle. MacRumors says it comes up when certain config files are edited to make it seem like a video camera is present, but it's not clear exactly what steps have to be taken, so we're treating this one cautiously until we can confirm it. Other secret features buried in the plists are said to include "auto-focus camera," "voice control," and "magenetometer," which is assumed to be a compass. Yep, all stuff we'd expect from an iPhone revision around, say, June, but nothing earth-shattering -- and if the video features are as mediocre as the current iPhone camera, we don't think the Flips of this world have too much to worry about.
Update: Boy Genius Report has scored some other 3.0-culled goodies, including what appears to be voice dialing ("Voice Control" as they're calling it), a digital battery strength readout, and further evidence of video support. Beta 3, where are you?

Latest PSP2 rumor covers familar ground, adds pre-Xmas release date

Not that we needed much more evidence that 2009 would be the year 'o PSP rumors, but Pocket Gamer is now reporting that it has heard from an "insider source" who says that the PSP2 will indeed be released before Christmas of this year. That source, who's supposedly a "developer working on the new hardware," also backs up some of the earlier rumors about the design of the device itself, saying that it will be more like the iPhone than the current PSP, and that it will boast a sliding touchscreen that conceals the buttons and dual analog controls when it's closed. Not much more than that, unfortunately, but who know's what next week's rumor will bring? We're personally hoping for a surprise Atari Lynx rebirth to really shake things up.

BEST iPHONE CASE OF ALL TIME!!!

Sadly, there's a good chance you already own an iPhone 3G case if you're the proud owner of an iPhone 3G. That said, there's still nothing stopping you from hopping a flight to Tokyo and replacing your current one with the best case in the history of cases. Sadly, the lad that snapped this shot isn't sure where exactly this thing is sold, but if you're savvy on the details, be sure to holler in comments below.
